Saratoga Springs water is rich in minerals... and fame!
Ancient claims have made Saratoga Springs popular and famous through the centuries.
The springs are the result of a geological fault that allows water trapped in shale layers to surface. Historically, Mohawk and Iroquois tribes drank and bathed in Saratoga waters to celebrate the waters' supposed strong healing and curative properties.
Local lore says that the Mohawks called the area "Serachtuague" to refer to it as a "place of fast moving water." Early settlers may have mispronounced this word, leading to the anglicized pronunciation "Saratoga."
It may be the name for fast moving water but today we're talking about fast moving horses not water, although it was raining early but cleared up.
However we were there to promote our Worlds Best Cheddar to the folks who may not be aware of our New York connection and introduce what we hope to become a fast moving product, our new, convenient and delicious Cracker Cut slices.
Got there early and things were just getting set up but its better to be an hour early than a minute late especially if you are talking about a flight or a tournament tee time or in this case show time.

Got the basic setup ready to go.
The Racing Staff getting their pre-race instructions.
Albany Distillery was there and their "Death Wish Coffee" Booze.
The Great entertainer Garland Nelson was next to me and getting all set up.
Once the races were about to start the crowds started trickling in to sample booze and cheese, Coca Cola Sponsored the tent and was selling drinks and hot fresh pretzel's there also.
These ladies were having a lot of fun and loved the Cabot Cheese and The Bracelets and the one was pretty excited and proud as she should be of her "Baby Bump" I was just happy she didn't decide to "Unbump" at the table.
Typical Crowd all day they would come and go between races, go from slow to full bore.
Buy their tent tickets between races make a couple of table loops and back to the races. Closed circuit TV's of all the races were in the tent.
Garland Nelson who performed there, and on his own too, promoted Cabot Farmers and Products all day, Thanks Garland !!
Later in the day things got livelier as the alcohol consumption was taking over
Garland did a fabulous job all day long keeping folks entertained.
This was the 1st of these this year so several more to come.
Glad I could be a part of it.
