Midd Summer Festival

Left home about 12:30 for my drive over to the Marble Works in Middlebury
for the annual  "Midd Summer Fest"

An event I had done before and was feeling pretty comfortable about my day.
Got there expecting to see the huge tent that were there last year, but no tent.

Spoke to one of the aides there and found my table location and I asked her why they didn't have a tent this year she said because the event hod gotten to big to locate a bigger tent on the property.
There were only two of us without canopies but it was supposed to be a nice day with no chance of rain so I was pretty sure I would be OK.
I just felt a little naked setting up and the wind was blowing pretty good but I had my big roll of "Gorilla Tape" so I could almost handle a hurricane as long as the table would stay put.
I couldn't keep my pull up in place so I took it down, my neighbors next door kept falling over as well and the fence was to flimsy to hook it to.

The event was supposed to start at 4:00 but people were coming in and looking for cheese samples so I started serving as soon as I was fully set up, so about 3:15 I was in full swing but it was a small crowd until the doors officially swung open at 4:00.

Early Crowd

Still not really open yet

Then the bell rang and I barely had a chance to look up from the table from that point on.
I had a full table the whole time with no let up whatsoever.
My neighbors were about the same

Some of the customers were taking it way to "serious" while trying the cheese.

But most were enjoying themselves and having fun and I got nothing but rave reviews and positive feed back from everyone.

They had an announcement for the winner of the door prize but it took too long for the winner to get to the table so they gave it to someone else.
About 5 seconds after that the original winner, (the guy in the green outfit)  made his way to the bandstand
he wasn't real happy that he was to slow on the draw..

This was a Blues Band so the music was much better sounding and no where near as annoying as last week on the lake..

This picture is of some of the girls who were working the event for the day and they were in full swing and having a great time even before things got rolling.

All in all it was a great day, straight out busy and they had a hard time getting everyone out of there on time, I just stayed there until my bowls were empty which was about 7:30, folded the show and headed back home and rolled in about 9:45.
Beautiful and successful day, and I'm glad I was a part of it.
