I love "ShopRite" Stores, although we don't have one in Vermont, however you can always "Shop Right" anywhere in the country where they sell Cabot Products.
This week I was in Jersey, no! it has nothing to do with a cow, at least today anyway.:-)
I worked at a ShopRite store in the town of Franklin.
The Town was named after one of our founding fathers, Ben Franklin, but he in not included in our "Founders Collection" consisting of
Private Stock, Orne Meadow & Adirondack.
However it is odd that he was born on Milk St. in Boston.
His Father was a soap maker, and ironically there is still a Franklin Soap Works around today.
Not only that, his mothers maiden name was Folger's, however I'm not sure about the coffee connection, and then of course there's Uncle "Ben's" rice, all of those products are sold at this Shoprite, along with the worlds best cheddar created from "Milk" of course, OK I'm done with trivia:-)
Oh wait a minute, I was talking to people all day about the "Worlds Best Cheddar and exercising my 1st Amendment Right's, of which Mr. Franklin as a "Founding Father" was a huge proponent, so it all fits, and I could go on but thats enough.

Got up early Saturday morning and headed down over the mountains to Franklin, not what you would normally consider as New Jersey traveling through Wantage Township NJ which is a bedroom community but is the largest town in NJ as far sq miles go but quite low in Population.
As I headed down off the mountain the sun was coming up and it was spiting snow and chilly.
I was thinking about "Red Sky in Morning Sailors take warning" turns out it was justified.
Drove on in to the store with no issues, got there before they opened, which was 8:00 AM. And you need a stink'n quarter to get a cart..Grrr.

Quite busy all day with lots of good conversations .
Rang out and headed back up over the mountains to the Motel to rest up for tomorrow.

&
I was not in the Franklin store again today
because I "moved" to the town of "Newton".
Can anybody see where I'm going with this ?, No not Fig Newton !!
The town was named after Sir Isaac Newton but I'm not going to delve into his
"Theory of Motion"
However! my overnight relocation proves his theory without question,
Because I liked Franklin and would have stayed there again today.
But Ian "forced" me to move..:-)
So that solidifies his theory, case closed, Good job Sir lsaac, you are da man.

Newton was a busier store than Franklin mainly because of the predicted snow storm I guess, heaven forbid you run out of Milk, Bread or toilet paper.
It was a good day though I was in the Deli Dept right next to the counter so I had a steady stream of people all day.
Sampled and sold quite a bit of cheese.
Headed out for Home a little after 4:00 and back up over the highlands it was snowing heavily but the plows were out and salting the roads, but I was not relishing the 6 hr drive back home in that.
The storm was coming from the west so instead of heading north through NY I headed directly east towards Hartford as opposed to Albany which already had some issues.
By the time I got to CT. I was almost out of the snow and by Hartford I was clear, heading up I 91 was smooth sailing, other than a couple of snow squalls when I got to some high points, never had anymore snow until I left 91 in St Jay.
Of course going thru Danville, Walden, Greensboro it snows there if there is a snow flake anywhere in the atmosphere.
Drove non-stop from Newton to home except for a stop at the outhouse, aka woods, But thankfully it was not bad going and rolled into my door yard about 10:15, and I wasn't long before hit'n the sheets.
A little show below showing the inside of the store and the Cabot display
In Both stores the Managers and the Deli folks were more than accommodating towards me and Cabot, lots of loyal supporters !!
So I guess thats it had a good weekend and I was happy to be a part of it.
Jim
