I had to leave home on Wednesday afternoon in order to be
there in time for an early start on Thursday Morning.
Jeff Burgess, Dave
Wilbur and Linda Young all Agri.Mark employees from New York had already set
the display up Wednesday for the show start
up Thursday, other than the cheese display which I was to do early
Thursday.
Left home Wed. and
headed over on a route I have become very familiar with of late, down through
VT on Rt 7 and into Troy NY then out towards Syracuse.
Beautiful Day for a drive
Headed on into Hoosick Falls New York and "Big Moose Deli" which was alive and well as usual.
Arrived at the Comfort Inn in Syracuse pretty early, grabbed a little light supper and hit the linens for the night.
Early the next morning I was up and at em early and found my way over to the New York State Fairgrounds and located the Horticulture Building but it was locked and dark.
Soon after that a Security Guard showed up and I told him my situation and that I needed to get in to get set up a little early and I had received permission from the event organizer and surprisingly he let me in.
It was pitch black in there but shortly thereafter the lights came on and I found my way to our location but was greeted by a couple of scary characters neither of which was very talkative.
After a few minutes I had the Cheese table set up and had placed a few other things around knowing full well they might not be in the right place but at least they were out and ready to go.
Jeff and the gang already had stuff looking pretty good just had to finish last minute details before the whistle blew.
Agri.Mark Display
So now I had some time to walk around and see what everybody else had going on.
Everything under the sun available there from outdoor living
Everything under the sun available there from outdoor living
To every farming machine and implement known to man
Came back around and now Jeff and the crew were there doing the last minute touch ups and final inspection before we got going.
Linda at the ready, Jeff and Dave were two big sissy's and wouldn't pose..
A few minutes later we got treated to the star Spangled Banner, which was very well done.
Soon after people started to wander in and it was very steady all day until just before time to close down.
Both Days were about the same attendance wise so we were actively involved with someone almost constantly.
Late in the Day Friday this little Agri.Mark farmer showed up and he was a real cute little guy with his Agfri.Mark hat on.
Jeff standing guard on the herd, and Dave ignoring him..
Typical line we had all day, constant flow of people all day.
One of the last customers of the day who was a determined and independent little guy who just had to stab his own cheese cube and he did.
I had fun and I believe it was successful.
Thanks to the guys from New York for welcoming me in to help with the show.
